Meet Ralph Groves

Ralph Groves is a military veteran; served in Germany and the Iraq War; and retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Major.

He served as an analyst for the Department of Defense (DOD) in the United Kingdom and the Pentagon; now retired.

Ralph Groves’ Army and DOD experiences provide him with skills that are highly relevant to address the challenges facing our nation today.  These experiences will enable him to navigate the complexities of our Federal Government agencies.  As an Iraq War veteran, he has firsthand knowledge of the sacrifices made by military personnel and is dedicated to ensuring their needs are met via the Veterans Administration.

❖ Ralph Groves’ Army and DOD experiences provide him with skills that are highly relevant to address the challenges facing our nation today.  These experiences will enable him to navigate the complexities of our Federal Government agencies.  As an Iraq War veteran, he has firsthand knowledge of the sacrifices made by military personnel and is dedicated to ensuring their needs are met via the Veterans Administration.

❖ Overseas experience: During Army and DOD duties, he served in Germany and the United Kingdom as well as in West Africa and Armenia (formerly a republic of the Soviet Union); In addition, he travelled throughout Europe, southern Africa, Singapore, Australia & New Zealand.  Based on first-hand knowledge, he will tackle issues such as reducing U.S. military deployments overseas while promoting fiscal responsibility and government transparency to restore trust in the Federal Government by citizens of Florida’s 11th Congressional District.

❖ In Florida, he is active in civic affairs with the Libertarian Party, the American Legion, the City of Ocoee Advisory Board, and the Church he attends with Haitian immigrants.  Ralph Groves was the former chairman of the Libertarian Party of Orange County.  During his chairmanship, he was an effective leader while addressing issues in West Orange County with Libertarian Party principles: individual liberty, limited government, and personal responsibility.

❖ Education: St. John’s University; Doctor of Arts Degree, History.  This education enabled him to write two books and several articles for scholarly journals.

❖ Family: Ralph Groves resides in Ocoee; married to a disabled wife; they have 5 children, 3 grandchildren, and sponsor 2 Haitian children and 1 West African child.

As a Congressman, Ralph Groves will work with Florida State Legislators to ensure that Washington will assist Florida.  For example, he will ensure that the Environmental Protection Agency provides Florida with more grants for safe drinking water, e.g. to eliminate lead in water.  In addition, he will ensure that Coast Guard funding is increased to enable response to hurricanes in Florida.  Further, he will push for the abolishment of the War on Drugs due to its failure to reduce illicit drug usage and its inherent disproportionate punishment of minority people.  In Washington, Ralph Groves will also strive to prevent tyrannical vaccine mandates as a response to future pandemics.

More broadly, Ralph Groves has observed that many people want more personal freedom, less government, and the latitude to support their preferred social causes, but they vote for the Democratic or Republican parties because they don’t believe a third party can win.  He is on a new Libertarian Party team that supports the social tenets of the historic Democratic Party (not the current Democratic Party), such as enactment of Social Security, and the economic policies of the Republican Party, such as calling for lower taxes.  Drawing votes from disgruntled Democrats and Republicans, Libertarians, including Ralph Groves, can win!
